This reads to me like something that could go in many different directions… like others have said. Could be a prologue to a story or another poem (perhaps one in a contrasting style?). Very intriguing.
This is also I think what my cat is saying when she regards me first thing in the morning…
I am sure my family can relate to that…
Polly, I have just nominated you for a Liebster Blog Award. I am still quite new to this whole awarding and blogging game, so if I make a faux pas, bear with me, but I really enjoy reading your blog and appreciated all your comments. http://findingtimetowrite.wordpress.com/2012/04/22/for-this-award-i-would-like-to-thank/
Marina, thank you so much. You’ll see that I’ve passed it on – it’s so encouraging to all of us to receive these awards – glad to see that you’ve liked to read my comments – keep up the good work – hope you like what I’ve done with your lovely award
I love it that, for you, Ann, it’s about our environment.
There are so many areas of our lives that it applies to … and this poem will not be pinned down to just one area. I am consistent in my belief that poetry is for the reader. Each reader brings their own interpretation to the poem. In as much as our poetry cannot always be attributed to our personal lives equally it cannot be channelled into one understanding. But then, of course, there could be more to come …
It’s great that this one has stimulated such discussion.
In total agreement with you on your last comments there Polly – about meaning and interpretation and the reader. But then, you knew I thought that anyway!

These are probably the words my son says to me when my head is buried in my laptop…

So many ways this can be interpreted – each of us will bring something new to it, perhaps.
Thanks Carrie.

heh-heh … a prequel or a sequel? Or an ode from the cat …
Bound to be something like that

She’s a very literary cat…
But seriously, there could be more to come here… I hope.

Sharp is right. and … Ditto my cat in the morn
To me it’s about everything that matters about living.
Today it’s about our environment.
