Every January, Satya and Kaspa of Writing Our Way Home challenge us to write small stones thoughout the month. Here is my small stone for today.
Day 10
Soft, soft and dreamy cooing song of the Wood Pigeon, muffled notes of such depth and rhythm. I forgive you for the cabbages.

They so ravage a garden that I forgot about their hypnotic song. Thank you, and good morning, Polly.

Well, they’re naughty things ripping the heart out of cabbages, but they are lovely to listen to …

My pigeons try to squash themselves into the tiny birdhouse designed for the small birds – they look comical! Sheffield pigeons are hard and quite intimidating – I think they have tattoos under them there feathers!!

heh-heh … love the idea of tatts under the feathers … ooooh, you have made me giggle

‘Soft dreamy cooing’ forgives everything, doesn’t it?

All those lovely round vowels … yes, most forgiving ~ until they start on the brassicas (!) heh-heh
