Shrove Tuesday
comes before
Ash Wednesday
the start of Lent.
Eat up the milk
butter, eggs
before the
fasting of
Lent.
Penitence in
Lent.
No luxuries in
Lent.
Give it all up
until
Easter.

  1. I never give anything up for Lent, but I suppose I should. Maybe I’ll give up procrastination. That would be nice.

  2. Quinquagesima was duly noted Polly but I need to point out that the Irish get a special dispensation for St. Patrick’s Day. Sláinte :)

  6. Looks very good. Your poem makes me think of all I should let go, at least temporarily! And i love the practical aspect of the pancakes . K.

  7. I love your crepes that you photographed or found! Yummy! Yes, we need to give something up, sometimes it is not food but technology or something that captures us. I gave up wine! Smiles, Robin

    • They do look good, don’t they? :)

I gave up red wine and chocolate. Not really a hardship, I confess, since I don’t eat much choc and rarely drink red wine… but one must show willing :D
